^^^

That is what I'm worried about! I told him this, but he says he will 'be careful'. Just like he was careful getting caught doing 62 in a 30!?  :shocked:

This is my main bit of leverage left, he hasn't had the penalty fine or points come through, which I think will be harsh, but fair!

The car he is looking at seems to be well looked after with receipts for all of the things you mentioned.

He isn't worried about fuel as 'should get 25mpg on the motorway'! Pahhhhh, ridonkkkk!

An ex of my mum had an RS4 a few years back. He had it for under a year, after he was caught driving at well over 100mph on the motorway. Thankfully he wasn't banned, but he did end up with a very very hefty fine and 10 points I think he said. He said that it picked up speed so quickly that by the time your eyes looked down at the speedo you were well into the speed limit. He sold it the moment he walked out of court, as he knew he'd only get into trouble again.

You don't learn by listening to your olders when your young. You only learn by personal experience.

Let him do it. Plus you get to drive it with no draw backs. Enjoy it while it lasts. Oh and if its cheap I bet the brakes need doing.

let him buy it.

if it was me, i know ide get sick of being in debt, and spending all my money on fuel, tax (which i assume is expensive), then maintaining it.

Let him do it, he'll soon get fed up with putting fuel in it!

Thom

and if that doesn't do it, the first set of tyres or service will (if the gets that far).

... it's turned into a fashion show for poofters.

I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

I'd leave him to it. He is only 21 after all.

I spent quite a lot of money on cars when I was that age, albeit nothing anywhere near as potent as that, and I think I turned out alright.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
