Mk2 Speaker Upgrade
« on: 21 April 2013, 17:00 »
Hi all had my new mk2 a few weeks now and all four speakers are doing the merry fart dance, took em out and all were bust so I've been looking round for some upgraded replacements I'm not 100 percent on what will fit and don't want to waste my time ordering and then having to send back the wrong ones. So anybody recently upgraded there's or any one know what will fit in the dash and rear (no door speakers) cheers

Alpine are known for making very sensitive speakers, this in turn means they can be powered from a low input RMS stereo. So yours is 4x45w which is measured in PMPO so in RMS will be around 18-20.

These will be ideal.....

Also.....Loose the door pockets in the front as they hold next to nothing and can be replaced with these......

You can then get some nice 13cm to go in the which will give a bit of mid bass, far better than any dash speaker.  I have some $" dash speakers for sale but not sure if they will fit the MK2.....All dash speakers do is produce high notes, anything above 800hz really, so only really good for a pair of tweets.
