You can remove it completely along with the EGR valve but you will need to fabricate or buy the (overly expensive) Forge blanking cap
Will always love my mk4 but she had to go...225 Quattro TT in its place....but its still black (she lives on in spirit!)

It is expensive for what it does, but lets be honest so are most 'mods'

make sure you use the right resistors
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

Has anyone got the dimensions to make a blanking plate ?

I want to do this but Ideally have the plate made ready to swap over to save time.

It's not quite as simple as that is it? I thought the forge one had a recess and o-ring to ensure it seals properly?

Can't remember perfectly but I think I cut it out and used a sealant.
