Best re-map R-Tech ?.

After  visits to various Sites that offer the Re- maps my final choice is nearly done but if anyone can pass on details of R-Tech and maybe your thoughts or pointers to further mods that would suit my standard GTI T.(X REG) 3DR.
Although i will travel from South East Kent the return drive should be very interesting.
1st. A quick plug change,filter,plus lambda sensor,to do this week.
2nd.Are R-Tech good value.
3rd.The engine has covered 124000 so will this be to much for the internals eg-Rings etc.
4th.Is a sports exhaust worth considering as i am thinking of a new one from MIJ Performance.

I did consider selling mine and buying a car already breathed on but if the above is not a good idea then i would,although i would only go for Another Mk4.

If your going stage 1 just give it a good service with oil filter Eric to make sure it's healthy and put a performance panal air filter in
And also either buy a new oem diverted valve from the dealers or buy a forge 007p 
Exhaust is personal preference, a back box won't make much difference but a full system does.

+1 for R-Tech. Amazing service and quality.

As suggested do the following before hand

-Panel filter (Pipercross are recommended by Rtech also cheap ~£30)
-Diverter valve (Forge 007p/008 if poss)
-I would highly recommend updating the actuator on the turbo if it is original (at 124k its most likely weakened and you will lose most of your boost out the exhaust)

With regards to exhaust, I noticed the biggest difference when I installed my eBay special decat. Although it does mean I have to swap it back every time my MOT comes around.

If you do go for a decat a turbo intake pipe upgrade would also be good.

Oh and also check the rubber o-rings around the injectors, mine were leaking when I took my car to R-Tech. Had to go away and fix before going back. Spray some carb cleaner where injectors meet manifold and check for bubbles engine note change.

Just checked my injectors (visual) and around a couple i have some weeping,How easy is to sort.
 Also the actuator mentioned and forged d valve, who can i phone to get one as not sure on type/make.

Now the nasty bit-Insurance is going to rise or do i not inform them although the i think i should as you never know.

Injector seals are very easy to change.

-Unclip all the engine loom injector connectors and move to the side
-Unscrew fuel rail and pull out injectors from the manifold
-At this point you can clamp the fuel lines but I was lazy and just put down loads of paper towel
-Pull off the clips that hold the injectors to the rail
-Yank out the injectors and get covered in fuel
-Use a screwdriver or sharp implement to carefully remove the rubber rings at top and bottom of each injector
-Replace with new rubber rings
-Refit everything

You will be playing with fuel so be careful and dont smoke etc.

It would be safer if you pulled the fuel pump fuse and turnt the engine over a couple of times to release the pressure.
Petrol in the eyes is painful, I wouldn't be pulling the injectors off without depressurising the system 1st.
