climatronic
« on: 17 April 2013, 12:39 »
anyone able to clear this up for me.

the e-con button, does this stand for electronic conditioning (or something?) and basically mean air con on?
or does it stand for economical and mean air con off?

keep hearing conflicting stories of whether i have my air con on or air con off.

also ive had a look in the book but couldnt find the section for the climatronic.

When it says "econ" on right hand side means your air con is off.

Took a while for me to find it in book too as i too needed an answer to this few month back.......

Auto- use air con to regulate the temp displayed using just aircon for warming/cooling

Econ- uses engine warm air and outside air to regulate the temp displayed

Nothing- just like a hot and cold dial just blows warmer/cooler depending on temp selected

Im my opinion i prefer the normal rotary knob version. As the climate control so fiddly. It slow to respond too i find.

I have a question about this system too.

You know how in a car with the dials, when you turn the dial completely to cold on start up,you close off the heater matrix etc so that hot water is circulating only in the engine as it warms up.

Well, how do you do the same with Climatronic, any ideas?

Thanks.

It doesn't on Golfs. Gets me when everyone says "you must have the heating set to hot when bleeding coolant system". Doesn't apply to Golfs as they just have a flap they don't shut the matrix off like Fiestas
