CAI removal
« on: 12 April 2013, 19:49 »
I'm going to have a go at fitting the APR CAI myself as it seems pretty straight forward however I can seem to see how to get the big ring type clip off the stock air box. I mentioned it briefly to the parts guy at VW and he seemed to think that there was a special tool for it? Can anyone confirm?

Thanks

Neil

Cheers, I'm kinda hoping if I went down early one Saturday morning they'd whip it off for me. Then I'd fit the new one on the car park.

I'm sure they'll be along shortly with a suggestion, the APR intake is the cl100012. Frustrating cos the US site it's £175 but won't post it here but the best price I can get over here is £240.

No coding, on the K04 cars you can stick with the stock paper filter in the engine cover, panel filters are a placebo effect in general

If its the spring cicular clip you are on about they are a nightmate to do on your own without the proper tool. The best thing to do is get another helping pair of hands. I sruggled for ages doing my R32, but with a frien no problem!
