The tabs that hold the arch trim on easily bend out of the way, and the trim can be stuck back on with adhesive.

Early MK3's were ET35. Can't remember which wheels they were. Later wheels changed to ET43  :wink:

I had a very early 8v (1993) with the original Le Mans wheels, and they were 6" x 15", ET38.
I don't ever remember a standard VW Mk3 wheel with a 35 offset.

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.

Think you've convinced me to try it myself, as well as grabbing some slightly smaller spacers. any more advice before I butcher the arches? Haha.

yeah ok the early gti "le mans" wheels were et38

the rest apart from the GL & SE 14" alloys (which are et45) are all et43  :nerd:

i think i have the same wheels and run 10mm spacers on the front to clear the calipers
