Thanks everyone, its really frustrating! All the backwards and forwards trying to get it all sorted out. The biggest annoyance has been VW Finance who you just can't get to speak to anyone. Yesterday I spent 45mins on hold waiting to speak to someone in customer services! And still didn't manage to speak to a sole person. I'm with VW Insurance and I still haven't received any paper work from them. In the end yesterday I phoned up and asked couldn't they email me the paperwork? "Oh yes of course we can!" So why didn't you do that since Saturday.

Just be careful with your prize possessions as its such a pain in the arse to get it replaced.

Really sorry to hear this.  Did you have GAP insurance?

Was at a work meeting the other day which the Police attend and they said this type of crime is rapidly increasing.  Same thing happened to my neighbour couple of years ago, broad daylight and they were upstairs in their house at the time - thieves walked in, picked up car keys and drove off in it. 

Hope it all works out ok.

The car was only 5 months old so the insurance "should" replace it with like for like if its in the first year.

Sorry to hear about your news Bajan 

We were broken into for the same reason, 6-months into my ownership. Luckily, I didn't leave the keys downstairs/in the kitchen as this is where they looked. They disappeared by the time that the house alarm fully went off. Like your intruders, mine didn't touch anything else on offer, they were just after the keys which they didn't get.
I think your baby is probably out of the country by now, so good luck with all the long-winded insurance cr*p and hope the replacement suits you well.
(The wife was very unnerved by the fact that intruders were in our home so I installed CCTV and various other safety features).
