Just thought I would make a comment on this as it is about three months after it happened.
After I had the one coil pack fail I decided to replace all four with the new ones, they have gone up two revisions since my car was made. Just in case I got stuck somewhere.
Now the weird thing is that after I had replaced all four the car seems to be really responsive and feels much smoother to drive.
This may be just a placebo effect but the other thing is the exhausts don't soot up any more,.
I used to clean them every couple of weeks, as they had gone black, but now I have been driving for three weeks, the same journeys and they are still completely clean. If you run your finger on the inside of the pipe there is a slight trace but nothing more.
Maybe someone fitted a DPF
