Coil Pack Failed!!
« on: 29 March 2013, 23:13 »
Just had a coil pack fail, 36K miles, car misfiring under load. Luckily two days before warranty runs out.

I thought VW had sorted this issue.

When I looked up the part number on ETKA it has been updated twice since 2010.

I wonder if mine is failing? In mornings the coil light stays on longer than normal? 46k brought in dec 2010.

How did you get on Mike...?

Seems sorted, thanks.

Reading a bit on other forums it seems once one goes the others follow shortly after.
The general consensus is to fit a set of Audi R8 ones as they have a metal stem which dissipates the heat better
They are also cheaper than the GTI ones

Thats your glow plug light; it will stay on longer due to the colder temperatures to help warm the engine up

Diesels do not have coil packs  :nerd:
