Removing spring topnut without compressors
« on: 29 March 2013, 17:49 »
Right, this has come up many times on here and I was fitting coilovers today so I thort I'd video me doing it so people could see what happens. If you do have spring compressors, use them! this videos just shows what happens without them.

Well I think what happens sort of comes with the name of spring compressors....They compress the spring to take the pressure off....

Anyone undoing them without the compressors is not thinking straight.

No comment.  :lipsrsealed:

And to be fair front is not as bad as that.

I've learnt to not recommend anyone to do that or give that as advise.

But for me I will always do it that way.

P.S you didn't put enough of your weight on the spring. Put foot up top end of spring, so when it unloads the spring pushes the shock.

But this is a good video! Now everyone can make up there own mind.

I can't see anyone getting hurt if you do it like that.
