Just had a call from the dealer, he says he's put the order for my car in but the only thing he couldn't order was the colour computer screen?? He's querying it but can't speak to VW till tuesday now! I reallly don't understand whats going on atm, did they mess around with the spec much when the mk6 was released?? >:(

Wtf? Doesn't give us much confidence does it!

Can't believe customers are already experiencing grief...

Sorry to hear mate, hopefully things will get sorted for ya come tuesday...

I expect demand for the GTI and GTD to be high so prices could rise with demand. If you've got an order placed already surely the prices quoted when you paid your deposit is agreed?

It's unlikely that prices would rise with demand tbh as the GTI/D has always had a big demand anyway, i'll have a chat with my dealer on tuesday and see what he says, i'm considering dropping the winter pack and adding kessy tbh, i thought the GTI had headlight washers as standard as it has xenons but can't find anything to support it, i'd rather not have them if i have choice cos they just make a mess! >:(  So if dropping the winter pack gets rid of them then thats what i'll do, i only wanted the winter pack so there aren't any blank buttons on the dash but i can live with that.

Xenons mean you HAVE to have washers.

What blank buttons would you fill in with a winter pack anyway? The heated seat controls are part of the climate control, the heated washers are live all the time the ignition is on, so have no switch and the low washer fluid warning is part of the DIS.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

If you don't have the winter pack you don't get the heated seats and so don't get the buttons on the centre console to control them just blanks, it never bothered me with this car as the heated seat controls would be in the centre of the heater/blower knobs.
I thought headlight washers were required if you have xenons but it doesn't say anywhere that they are fitted? ???

You can take it for granted that Xenons will have washers - they are required for type approval.  The standard equipment states :-

Gas-discharge (Bi-Xenon) dipped and main beam headlights including LED daytime running lights, automatic range adjustment and low washer fluid warning light

and I'm pretty sure the low washer fluid warning is talking about for the headlight washers.

The price list brochure also states the following as standard on the GTI :-

Gas discharge (Bi-xenon) Including automatic range adjustment, headlight washers and low washer fluid warning light and LED daytime running lights

Bloody hell!! Just looked again and your right! I must have looked at that brochure 5 times and didn't see that! :embarrassed:

Thanks Jonny!

So dropping the winter pack will make no difference to the washers then.
