Do other cars have ADC and if so what are they like?
I could very well be that VW is setting the standard and in a few years time most cars have something similar?!

Hopefully, as they are building a few GTIs without ADC, the standard grill will be available as a separate part.

Judging by the prices for the standard insert it should be about £60

Should be just a matter of removing the front ADC camera, changing the grill insert and coding out the ADC option using VCDS.

Does that mean it drops two dozen insurance groups as it's now impossible to crash into the arse of someone???

Just had a look at the latest price list pdf and the picture of the front of the GTD has the same type as the SE/GT rather than the big square one seen in other pictures, it doesn't look too bad tbh but it's not a great picture

The saving grace (kind of) is though that the GTI should seemingly be coming with a rather more 'attractive' version of it, as seen in the picture I took below. This is rather than the dome shaped unit you get on the standard Mk7, which frankly looks a bit naff, as seen >here<.



In person the appearance of the ADC eye is also helped by the larger lower grill on the GTI, it just blends in more. Now here's hoping that the UK models do indeed get the pictured ADC camera rather than the standard one!

Just ordered my first GTI :-) Only problem is they still seem a little unsure of the available colours? I like both the red and grey but apparently they're not even certain if urano grey will be available in the UK? anyone else heard similar problems? I asked about ADC and the dealers point blank denied that the GTI would have that...

Urano grey is in the configurator on the VW UK web site for both the GTD and GTI, so presumably it is available.

Sounds like the dealers aren't quite up to speed on things just yet.

I know that's what i told them! But they're investigating for me to find out further I've yet to see Urano Grey in the flesh but I loved the look of Carbon Steel on the Mk6 - can anyone tell me if theyre similar? Colour is probably one of the most important aspects for me as I like to admire my car!
