Had car on jack recently (flat front driver side tyre ) it crumbled...
Took it to auto shop, he said it wasn't too bad but a little corrosion around that area, he showed me the length of it on ramp it sort of looked clean to the naked eye underside of car looked pretty decent AFAIK but I don't know what I'm doing. But I can't jack the car now and I also wonder about the integrity...
Say it's just a small area around jack point, is that likely an MOT fail???
How long would the sills last if left that way.. or if I have a patch welded in (he quoted £200 both sides) how long would that extend life expentancy... ?? I also think I will have to buy a trolley jack and avoid using the sills. Can a novice do this?? I can see that not being ideal in busy traffic..
Alternitively, I may sell it.. it's a very nice P reg Golf 1.8 SE dark blue with GTI trim with sunroof in very good condition with 95k on clock and history etc, starts every time, original 14" alloys could do with refurbing.. what's it worth..??
Sorry for all the questions.. I have limited funds and don't know what to do
