does anyone know how to remove airbag and steering wheel

just got myself new steering wheel and boss
just want to know if anyone knows how to take airbag off

Ok, I know how to do it, but if it goes off in your face whilst you're doing it, I take no responsibility!!

Turn your steering wheel 90 degress to the left. Take a small headed, long screwdriver. On the back of the steering wheel there is a hole, stick the screwdriver in the hole (carefully) and release the catch. Now turn the wheel 180 degrees in the opposite direction (90 to the right from dead ahead) and repeat catch release on the other side.

Centre section of steering wheel (which contains airbag) can now be removed.

Go slow (and carefully!!) and don't blow yourself up.

thanks for that its made me all nervous about doing it now, i think i read somewhere that you are best takeing the negative off the battery but cannot be 100%

id be 100% sure as i dare say being a safety feature they might not need a battery supply seeing as there basically a self contained unit.

disconnect battery, Undo two screws either side of the pillars on the steering wheel, gently lever the airbag off, keeping your head to one side of the wheel, there is a actvation cord underneath it which just plugs onto the wheel, pop that off and put if somewhere, where it will not become static thus allowing it to gain charge. Once that is off then the steering wheel should pop off once a big 19mm nut has been removed from the column.
