I have done mine!
I just followed what it said in Haynes. But was told to disconnect battery first and leave for at least 15 minutes to allow any residual current to dissipate.

I did mine by removing the connector first, (electrical) then took off the steering wheel, then the air-bag. I was swopping standard steering wheels, coz the original was worn.

I had no problems!

new steering wheel fitted
disconnected negative on battery
undid 2 retaining bolts on back of steering wheel
took airbag away from steering wheel
then i disconnected wire to airbag
took steering wheel off and fitted my new one
but when i took the airbag off i must admit i was s***ing my self

See nothing to worry about was there! ahem :rolleyes:

But I do think there is an element of people saying things in pubs etc. that are put about by dealers to make us have work done there!
