mk4 drivers side door puddle light/lock issue

Mine does this............ The puddle lights dont work on either side but all my other interior lights work fine, Blubs are fine  Plus it doesn't turn on the interior lights when i open the drivers door but does with the other doors oh and it only makes that warning sound that my lights are on if the drivers door is slightly open (about half an inch) but if i open it normally don't get anything  done this not long after owning it (hope that makes sense  )

Looked on vortex site and looks as if there s way of repairing re soldering etc alot of work but doable

Here's the link to the diy, had to do this for 3 of my door modules. I had faults ranging from the puddle lights not working to the car unlocking and locking itself randomly.
