Sealing the garage floor

I'm planning on sealing the garage floor this spring/summer, and wondered if anyone on here had tackled the job before?

If so, can you recommend any kits for doing the job?  It's a standard single garage.  also, any tips?

I'm guessing its concrete so just seal it with a pva solution ad then paint it. I'm fairly certain that some of the garage floor paints you but do both, so no need to seal first?

Seal it then outdoor masonry paint. The others still flake anyway and cost loads more

epoxy floor resin.

1st coat i thinned with 50% acetone,  and literaly just tipped the bucket over and brushed it about with a sweeping brush.  acetone helps it soack in to teh concrete and really bind the top layer together as well as providing an excelent key for the top coat.

2nd coat was just straight floor resin  put on with a long handel roller ( useing the tip and spread method )

if your going to be walking on the floor when its wet or oily  you need some sand in the top coat tho else it gets very slippy

This 2 pack Epoxy is the way to go if you want to paint it.

If you just want to seal it, Wickes do a good Concrete floor sealer. Mine has been down two years now with no problems.

Either way, get the floor as clean (oil) and dust free as you can first.

Cool.  It's a cement floor yes, and it's brand new, so no dirt or anything on it, just dusty.

Think I'm going to go with this stuff, then paint over the top of it.

how new are we talking?? because if its still "green" you need to let it properly cure first
