The agu and bam have a forged crank but it is irrelevant unless your hitting silly numbers like 800bhp!
Never heard of a cast 1.8t crank snapping on any of the high powered cars.

Fair enough, it's good to know. I was just going off what I'd read before buying it. Internet hey? allows you to be informed and wrong at the same time.

The problem with the Internet as its like Chinese whispers things get spread and exaggerated
For example why does a bam engine cost around £1000 when you can pick up a aum for £350 (both without turbos)
Because apparently the bam is "better" because it has 225bhp when realistically they are pretty much the same and its the same with the auq.

Something I think is called scene tax...

Yeah scene tax is rediculous and generally makes things seem to cost a bomb for the mk4.
