Graphic Designers. need your input!

i think to have them redrawn you may need to find a graphic designer with the skillset you require.

What would you achieve by redrawing these? How are the below images not suitable?
(you'll need this info to potentially brief your designer, and im curious)

I'm doubtful you can  just trace them, as i presume the images are copyright/owned by the manufacturers. i think this would take you longer than expected and cost more than you expect (potentially why you think the web designers quite is high - although there's a whole other debate about "web designers" being able to do "graphic design".

Web design is a different beast to graphic design. Some people can do both, but ideally you have a team of people, a graphic designer to design the look of a website, the coder to make it work and a Q&A tester/user experience expert.
Graphic designers do visual design products like posters, flyers, books, logos and much more.

How big is your company and what's your marketing budget?

As for tracing the images, there is a copyright issue there, but so long as the company that supplied the images has released them for use under licence, they it should be ok. But as said, it would take a lot of time to re-create all of those with all the technical detail and it might not really be worth it.

A lot of time for someone to fanny about with them. To reproduce those images shouldn't take long at all. It's 4 basic extrusions (rectangles) and a circular extrusion. Apply appearances to each of them, and bobs your uncle done.

Stick it in a drw template, auto balloon, BOM table, 3D view. Simples.

Then again, you can either pay someone who will get it factually correct, or someone arty farty who will spend hours making it look "pretty". MY advice is find someone with a copy of solidworks of similar and get them to knock up a few rendered images. Cheap, functional, done.

Sounds like he didn't want the functional images from the supplier and wanted something arty. In which case you'll have to pay for an arty person to do it.

i'm not looking for arty. just to give the potential customer a better idea of how it all works. I'm looking for cross section examples of the UFH within a whole room and not just a close up. I have permission to use the suppliers images if i wanted to.

Cool, just properly highlight what you want... I work all week with vague requests from clients, I don't need it in the evenings too

If we had been approached to commission vector graphics similar to those, you'd likely be looking at ~2-3 hours labour per image @ £30 per hour.

I can understand wanting to brand your own site and images, but (I'm biased and love vector art) those look really slick already - and as long as you are allowed to re-use the imagery, why not?
