As Wayne said, all depends on the gearbox used in the conversion and defo go for a branded one rather than the cheapie ones.
If you are a novice I would say don't bother trying but if you like to get your hands dirty then go for it, will need 2 of you at least and an engine hoist would be beneficial.
Good luck pal, shame about the dodgy MOT, I know of places that will give you one without even looking at yr car
I value mine and others lives too much so No thank you!!!!

Exactly bud......I have my 2 girls in the car with me the majority of the time. One is 14 and the other is 4. If something bad happened and it was due to the dodgy MOT then the person who sold me the car and the MOT tester would be eating Hospital food for a long time!

How do I find out what gearbox it has bud?

a 500 quid mot first of all isn't dodgy second of all the car has got half as many problems as the one you p/x me in which cuts out when you put your foot to the floor really good in the outside lane with the glow plug warning light on. not to mention the slow puncture it had and the fact the spare tyre also had a puncture that was a good way to miss a mornings work couldn't even change the wheel.

door man to door man I don't think id be eating hospital food

We weren't having a dig at you mate, in fact Godzilla says nothing but good things about you.
The fact remains that a second MOT tester has said that there were a few things wrong with the car that should't have been passed, that is all

maybe so emission it will fail but as I spend a hell of a lot of money at my mechanic he turned a blind eye to this the advert also clearly stated that I booked time off work for people to come for viewings and test drives so im not really sure what else im meant to do the conversion alone was 3.25k with out the map exhaust ect so could be broken for a hell of a lot more then what was paid for it however I liked the car to much to do this so sold it on at effectly a loss to myself as well as retaxing it for 6 month at my own expense when most people leave that to the new buyer

Thank you mate.

Jamie......I have been to 2 MOT testers now and they said I should contact VOSA, but as said, she is my project now!  Also for having a go at you, not true mate, just stated if anything bad was wrong with the car that ended up with my daughters being injured.....Front seats for example flew off the runners, Shady on here one of the Mods & Big Gun could not believe it, but that is all sorted now.  Also the original engine that was mapped from 150-210BHP on paper must have been on a different engine, the engine in mine is 190BHP as standard. Getting her RR'd on Friday

As stated.....Sold as seen either way so we shall leave it at that.

Not really the point, if the mot is not right I would take action, someone might not be so lucky in the future.

Dodgy mot's need to be stopped.

Yours I believe is a BVR which was the 180bhp with a different map to 187bhp so will be interesting to see what it is running.

Without having a go, the seats not being on the runners properly (missing the front pin/clip to stop it going too far back when being adjusted and the two clips to keep them relatively stable in the runners) was just a complete shock. The seats do wobble a tad, but they wobbled like mad and weren't secure.

All cars have their issues but there were some things that could of easily been rectified before selling the car.

Wayne......  A trip down to Audi's yesterday and speaking to one of the Tech's who has worked there 14 years said it was the rare BVR from a 2007 Audi TT which comes out of the box with 190BHP and has a K03-S Turbo. But indeed you are correct with saying the majority were 180BHP......Interesting to see what she makes on Friday on the rollers!

Shady.......It was rather interesting wasn't it bud!  All fixed with new pins and guides now   The MOT tester ordered me some in when I took my car down to have floor bits plated.  Now all covered in Hammerite paint so no worries there!

Mat came over last night and swapped boot lids over as could not open the boot from outside but could from the inside.....Rather tricky to open when my boot was full of tools, especially the road drill.....nearly 60kg it weighs!  So now with my new boot I can open it from the outside!  So all tools fit nice and snug in there and I can get my 2 bags, 18 mitts, 18 pads, ropes etc for Kickboxing in there with just the tops of the rear seats down, loads of room so very happy!!

Superchips Len!  They have one of the most accurate rollers in the UK as they set up very high performance cars, so should get a nice true reading.  They are expensive but worth it. They have set up many of my cars over the years.....I remember them RR my Astra GTE 16v so that must have been 1996.....Showing my age now, passed my test in 1991, the great days of rave when it was just rising at warehouses etc, the memories are flooding back......Getting a bit carried away here considering your question mate

The point I was trying to make was that from what I have read the only difference between the 180 and 190 is the map so it will be interesting to see if it makes anymore than a mapped 180.

180bhp also has a KO3s btw
