Parts needed for a hybrid?
« on: 24 February 2013, 20:20 »
I have got a ko3 turbo spare and thinking about rebuilding it and hybriding it. I've currently got a standard ko3s on my AUM. So people tell me what I need to make a hybrid or would I need a ko3s for it?
Golf Mk4 GTi Turbo, R32 front bumper, Lowered on ProSport Coilovers, Bora illuminated vents, Armrest, Heko wind deflectors, Aluminium vinyl trim.

Soon to be added, FMIC, 3" exhaust, Remap..oh and new turbo :(

If you want to build it yourself like I'm doing, unless you have access to a machine shop and tig welder your pretty limited. I dont have access to a reliable machine shop so I'm using a k04-001 hotside and a modified k04-023 coldside with a brand new compressor wheel, bearings and stuff. The bearing housing I'm using was from a k03s. All the K03/k04 parts are interchangeable i.e. a k04 compressor wheel will fit on a k03 shaft. Littco in here builds some pretty mean hybrids and I've heard nothing but good things about his work!  The only reason I'm not asking him to do it is because I'm pretty adamant that I'm gonna build this car myself! lol
Here's a couple of pics of my modified compressor housing. It is welded up now just haven't got a pic yet

Mark don't you have a arz?
Either way send the k03 to littco he does a range of different hybrids ranging from 250-300 bhp.
You will need appropriate mods to suit....fmic, bigger injectors, fuel pump, tip, exhaust, ported manifold, boost pipes, WMI

Yeah as long as the k03 has no cracks then just send it littco for a 300 bhp turbo
About £600 but would have to check with him.

Yeah I will have plenty of bits for you haha
