Decisions, decisions.
« on: 24 February 2013, 13:01 »
So, I'm gong to be saving for a mortgage, but before I do I want one last big treat for myself.

Princess is currently rocking her powerhouse of an engine, the 8v. However, I want more raw power. (Some actual power).

I have decided to go down the transplant route.

My budget is £1000 incl fitting, possibly a tad more.

What I need from the car...

Reliability, tourqes, power, ease of maintenence.

What I am not bothered about...

Economy, tuning.

R32 is out of the question. The only choices I'm considering are above.

Additionally, I've had a quote of a 16v swap out incl parts for £1000. I understand a turbo will be more.

If someone wants to earn some money doing a transplant for me, give me a shout.

Help.

Why fit what you can buy in standard car form?

Had a 1.8t mk4. Hated every second of ownership. Can't put my finger on why, it just wasn't for me. Biggest car mistake I've made. It felt so rollie polie In the corners and felt heavy.

Good car, reliable, just not for me.

I will say though, I would have another.. But NOT standard. I think I hated it because standard mk4s are so ugly. :-(

My 8v is actually really tidy. But I just want it to go.. More. It sounds the business though.

10 seconds later... "Phew, I'm knackered now."

Maybe, but I'm weird. It would have to be an anni so I can feel special.
