unless they are perfect in every way mk3 8vs arnt worth much, so leave it alone its not worth the hassle. and as for rx8`s there 1oos of non runners with low milage kicking about ,just look on autotrader. my pal has 1, they look nice but are aload of rubbish and they go 4 peanuts even if they are runners. no body wants them because they cost a fortune in petrol and being a wankle engine they need a specialist to fix them, so stay away from em m8. there cheap for a reason ~ there rubbish

watch these guys strip a engine in 7 minutes. There going slow too. Could be done in 3 minutes

clean it up, fit new apex seals and gaskets then put it back together. Job done!
like I said know how to look after them and they are great. 230bhp from a 1.3 is amazing.
the 2.8 vr6 only has 174bhp and you can't pick that up and take it in your house and strip it down in 3 mins.

It's a 5 door and in really good condition body work wise ....no rot in usual places. Im only looking cause I'm in a bit of a hole money wise and could do with making a few £££, just thought I could mot this and stick it on some coilovers and peperpots for around the £500 mark and maybe sell mine as it sits for £1200 would sort me out and I'd still have a decent looking golf for summer. I know the anni is rarer etc but I ain't that bothered ATM  ....having said all that....selling it would probably be a task itself, nothing seems to be selling from what I've seen

Much as i love the old mk3 i don't think there's much money to made from them at the moment, i'd keep the anni which is always going to be worth a bit more than a standard one.
Maybe worth going for it if the shell is absolutely mint, dirt cheap and you've got a project in mind.

Yes true.... But they are still total bollox. Cost mega mega money to run, just drink fuel. And now you really do strughle to get decent money even for running ones. Reason there cheap and theres are reason that breed of engine hasnt become popular with any manufacturers.

As per your golf, id keep the Anni for sure

I'd keep the anni mate.. I broke a dragon green 8v hoping to make a fair bit but I only made prob £250 in all. tbf I swapped some bits for my current motor but it was a bit of a pita. my 2 cents
