Cold start problem

Temp sensor could be somthing to think about Dom, when I first got mine it had a £6 temp sensor in and had the exact same issue, if you boot it through the gears while its faulting does it like hold back and not rev past 4.5k ? Mine did, put a genuine temp sensor in it hasn't faulted once!, it was reading so thing like -36 in measured values the  Gsf  "bosh" sensor

Doesn't hold back at all when warm, going to try some new plugs in it at the weekend and see if that makes a difference

I know you have a decat, but those symptoms sound like lambda to me, especially from cold

Hmmm, well the 2nd lambda hasn't been coded out since the decat. Although I assumed that it would throw up the CEL light, or at least a fault code?

Not always no, the front lambda (nearest the engine) and as your issue is ONLY from cold I would look at that

Yeah, reckon you might be right.

Are the two sensors interchangeable? I.e could I just swap the pre/post cat ones over to see if it improves?

Scrap that, one is wideband the other is narrow so it won't work. New sensors are expensive

They are expensive £70 odd from memory, have a look on eBay first mate for spares that's what I did

Hi Dom. I'm having the same symptoms as you. Did you have any luck in solving it?

Nope, logged lambda via vagcom and the readings were normal. Next step is a fuel filter change with a service next weekend. I also intend to do away with the PCV/EVAP/SAI system over Easter to eliminate a load of hoses that could potentially be leaking
