Squeaky boost leak?

Anyone else had a squeaky boost leak?!

I think it's a boost leak as when the turbo comes on a continuous squeak comes from somewhere infront of the drivers side behind the dash... Literally sounds like a mouse! Though I recently checked all my pipework and tightened my clips and they were fine??

Anyone got any other suggestions on what I should look at?

check the pipe that runs off your intercooler, i think its the pancake pipe? I believe you can get access to it via the front driver side wheel arch.

Someone will correct me if im wrong.

Yeah that's right, I have checked all those, I was driving earlier with the window down and it seems to be from in the cabin, now i'm thinking maybe the hose to my boost gauge is loose after i took out my dash

yeah DV is on the right way around, it was running fine (apart from the electrics) its only been since the snow, I didn't use it at all for 2 weeks during the snow, but since driving it again its been doing it... i'm sure that's just coincidence!

I'll get it scanned so i know for sure

Do you have a boost guage fitted? The vac line and/or the guage can squeek if there's no "no buzz" T piece fitted.
To be fair though it's not the sort of problem that develops, would just do it straight away after fitment. Just a thought :undecided:

Sounds like you could have a leak on the boost gauge line. The pipes you usually get with the gauges are clear and can go stiff in The cold. Maybe it leaks under pressure through a tiny hole.

Found the bugger! Turns out all my seals are fine, vagcom showed no leaks which puzzled me even more. then i noticed my drive shaft has a tiny ring around it, turns out the nut holding the pancake pipe up has done a runner and the pancake pipe catches my drive shaft which makes a squeal at a certain rpm, which just happens to be when the turbo kicks in!  :smiley:
