Well they were not much good handling wise even when new.

Either shocks, top mounts or rear axle bushes. On mine it was rear axle bushes and ended up going down the polybush road. Been fine ever since  :smiley:

This - could be any number of reasons - what mileage is the car and is it standard suspension ?

Could just be cheap coil overs  :lipsrsealed:

85,000 full history.ill have to get it in the air.have a good look.its like the car slides to side on the axle

it's not got silly old tyres in the rear??

mine came with tyres from 1996 (!) when i bought it last year. skidded on moist road on almost every roundabout....
