You hoping to do another rocker gasket in a few months minutes?

that was with a new gasket.. i binned the cheapo twisted one...

Genuine though?

Every other "OE" quality always leaks after short time. OEM and you're sorted.

what, after about 15 minutes lol

it was this one bud http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Golf_2.0_1998/p/car-parts/engine-parts/engine-parts1/car-gasket-seals/?368440480&1&1ce84055f12bc9e5473664acfde5bd2c2c6d0e63&000541

I got this gasket too. Was good quality and a good fit done a thousand miles since and no leaks

the gasket had come slightly out of the arc runner on the head- hence the oil spillage! sat him straight and changed the oil and she's all good now... I hope!

when it stops raining i'll take a couple! spraying the inlet & cover really makes me want to take more bits off and do em too

noticed a positive difference in performance recently, think it's down to the ported TB as it pulls much better now. could be cleaning the crap from the airfilter tho. mpg is down but who cares, it's fun. will have to rolling road soon to see how much power she's kickin out

did a DIY decat last night that involved cutting the centre section of the cat out and welding in a length of steel tubing at the same diameter. Cat was a b!tch to get off, had to grind off 4 bolts as they were all rusted! classic for a mk3.  luckily I reused the section with the lambda sensor in as that was seized in too. sounds better now, louder but not too loud due to still having the suitcase and the mahoosive backbox. more noise = more fun! another mod that cost £0 keeps me happy

desperately needs a good wash tho! and some tracking work this week. it's pulling <<<<<<left!

I was in a bit of a car mood today. ordered some pressed plates and some new vw centres for the wheels :)

can't seem to get round to buying a panel filter for the smoothed airbox, but I made and fitted a heatshield from 2mm steel for the cone filter. don't know if it's a placebo but seems to have given her more grunt.

got VAGCOM working on my mac, hurrah! found out instantly the abs light was to do with a faulty rear d/s sensor, so ordered a new one of those.

fixed my sub too, so got my bass back! was driving round town blaring out Kate Bush at full volume earlier haha.

finally gave her more lows! was getting too much body roll (boat roll) round the corners so I went down by 20mm. I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND though, set the heights exact all round from the rings to the bottom of the threads, and measured the strut lengths but when dropped there are slight variations in height each corner.. either the car is twisted ha or there's some bushing or something somewhere I need to replace. not got a clue on this.. need to get it set right so I can get it aligned though as the front tires are getting a bit camber'ey now lol

from this

to this

to this!

drives sooo much better now. you steer and it goes where you point it rather than getting that body roll.
