fitting TT bushes on wishbone Q

i am just in the middle of refurbing my old wishbones to refit to replace the cheap ebay ones i had to stick on. I am going with new front standard bushes and TT rear bushes my Q is fitting the bushes is that something i can do at home ? if so what would i need.

Yeah, wishbone bushes are easy enough - you just need something to press them in with. I used a vice to do mine :wink:

I did mine at the weekend using a vice, needs a fairly decent sized vice, but they will press in without the use of a hydraulic press.

Make sure you clean up the face inside before pressing it in

Mine were like this before:



Cleaned up to this:



In the vice, use a steel plate so you press the bush evenly:



Go slowly, but it'll go:



Finished:



Sadly my poor vice wasn't really big enough:

if your fitting bushes with the sleeve ready installled, use a bit of thick wood with a hole that the skeeve will fit theough, otherwise you might ruin the bush. i used this method and a club hammer
