Standard arb can be either 21mm or 23mm in diameter depending on year and model...
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

Hey guys new here just got a golf 1.8GTi Turbo in need of a few things cheap cheap lol.

Just wandring my golf is slammed and makes like a metal on metal sound which i gather is driveshaft and ARB rubbing from what ive read and most say to get 22mm ARB would a 23mm work just as good or have to be 22mm??

EDIT : Also does anyone know how ebay intercoolers are? thinking of getting a Forge one but also looking at ebay ones as there around £200.

Coilovers : bought
Both Driveshafts : need
silver front wing and passenger door (both passenger side) : need
Better induction kit mine comes down infront of tyres and apparently shouldnt be like that :\ : need
ARB : might have one if 23mm is fine for slamming lol
Intercooler : need (have one on front bumper but doesnt connect to anything just sitting there lol...) : need
R32 badges for front and back (really cheap as seen them for £30 each n dont fancy that at all) : need
R32 front lower grills : need
R32 front bumper headlight washer ( the black bit that sits on bumper) : need

probably more i need but all i can think of at the moment dont have the money to buy everything this month but will take what i can.

Thanks guys :)

Go find a ruler and see what 1mm is! You may as well wrap some tape around the arb if that's your theory lol! Your best best is to find an r32 arb.

im quite awear of how much 1mm is just dont know size of standard arb and best size to go for as shopping on a budget atm lol, and i'll have a look then

The standard ARB goes over the drive shaft, when you lower the car the drive shaft rubs on the ARB. To prevent this you have 2 options:

1. Get an after market ARB with larger hoops (this still doesn't always solve the problem).
2. Fit any VAG ARB that goes under the drive shaft (MK1 TT/LCR/R32 etc.)

As already said the cheapest and easiest is a MK1 TT ARB.
