Help needed :)
« on: 17 January 2013, 15:33 »
Hi all i'm new here. i've just got a mk4 golf gti 1.8t its the 150bhp model and other than airfilter and dump valve is completely standard. I dont want to touch the body work as i'm a photographer and need to remain professional when i'm turning up at weddings etc but I do want to tune and modify engine suspension exhausts etc etc.

So at the moment it is standard as i said 150bhp and was wondering whats the quickest and cheapest way to 200bhp?

all help much appreciated

cheers Kieren

Generic remap may get you very close to your target, if not all the way.

What engine code is it?

(Rough years)
1998 - 2000 agu/arz - 190-200bhp after map
2001-2003 aum/auq - 210bhp ish after map

Obviously figures can vary but you get the idea

R-tech custom remap - k04-001- 250bhp/311ftlb

"Project track car" has begun

Remap would also get my vote, it was the single best mod I did on my 1.8t
