I purchased a rotor for my 8v a couple of months back and the receipt said 16v rotor, not sure if it's the same or not though.

the 16v leads are different as on the 16v the plugs sit further into the block and on the 8v they protrude from the block you will find that the ones for the 16v are generally more expensive

GTI is not a trim level. It is a lifestyle.
1999 1.8t AGU, KO3s, forge 007p, silicone tip and charge pipe, oil catch can, SS turbo back system, pipercross CAI, g60/vr6 clutch, 40mm apex springs, drilled and grooved discs, stage 2 remap.

I realised this today when I actually went to change the plugs. broke the end of one lead pulling it from the dizzy. soldered the end of an 8v lead on to the 16v one, result. so you can use 8v leads on a 16v
