Remove all sound deadening, have you decided whether to remove the heater matrix? I would remove all sound deadening including those behind the dashboard.

Yeah the plan is to just ditch it all I think

don't ditch the heater if you plan to drive the car to / from trackdays.

early starts with no heater don't work very well. Misted up screen and freezing cold drive to the track isn't very enjoyable!

Deciding weather to buy a different shifter or DIY it so it sits higher...

Think prawny is using one of them Motorsport shifters, they are a nice bit of kit, I like the look of it very much. Unfortunately for me I'm probably going to stick to the original one for a while. Having moved the shifter up provides a much better transition from gear change to steering, I can keep both hands on the wheel longer which is nice as I don't have power steering.

ME7 is kind of a half way house, it's narrowband still, but has DBW throttle and a map sensor. Still a 512kb ECU also.

Easily upgraded to me7.5 though with the addition of the wideband lambda loom from a later car, and if you went for a BAM or AMK file you could also retrofit the EGT function which would be well worth it.

Wideband lambda?? Isnt that a post cat lambda? As the ARZ has both (mine does anyway) does that mean I can just plug a me7.5 in??

Ok so been thinking about the above question!
So did a search and found my own thread! 
I think these were posted when my notifications were not working and I didn't see then ha
Anyway the arz has two lambda but it is narrowband (has four wires rather than five)

But I am wanting to convert from me7.1 to me7.5 but I also noticed the arz doesn't have a traction control button (although I always turn it off!)
Would this matter?
