Think he's looking at the steelies, did they come with alloys? Still a great deal regardless if you ask me. It has the potential to be a really fun car, sometimes I'm driving along in mine and thinking to myself should this be on the road?! It would be more at home on the track

Good luck buddy

Yeah the standard wheel is in te boot as the tyre deflated from being stood.
It's a arz so has the me7 Ecu which is what I wanted.
Just got home but its a tad dark so will be having a better look round it tomorrow! Will be stripping bits of the interior whenever I have a spare few min

ME7 is kind of a half way house, it's narrowband still, but has DBW throttle and a map sensor. Still a 512kb ECU also.

Easily upgraded to me7.5 though with the addition of the wideband lambda loom from a later car, and if you went for a BAM or AMK file you could also retrofit the EGT function which would be well worth it.

What do you mean prawn by fitting a bam file?

Think I'm gonna drop a aum lump in depending how damaged this engine is so will be just chucking whole loom and me7.5 Ecu in it etc

I'm gonna post this one in here but the rest of my project will be in my project thread in dub rides with the addition of bits being posted in here

I know people who've had to cut OMP cages up and re-weld the feet back on.  :lipsrsealed:

They're made in Italy.  I don't like to stereotype, but....

Haha ok then

Anyway DAY 1!

Started off the day nice and frosty at -3

Few of the car before things get crazy

Will definitely be lifting it up a little for track use ...

Anybody seen these seats before? They have airbags and are in next I mint condition haha

Started with whipping some of the seats out (which way a ton!)

And then all the boot stuff!

Terrible picture haha

Then sorted the front carpet and expose all the heavy soundproofing!

A nice pile of interior

Ripped all the soundproofing out and also the side panels

End of the day pictures!

Quite happy with the progress for today

Couple of small questions.

Does anyone recommend leaving the thick soundproofing behind the glovebox you can see on the last picture incase of engine bay fires etc??
I looked at along it out and I will need to cut it up so thought I best ask first as I won't be able to put it back haha

Also how do you remove the trim and handle for the bonnet release? Tried pulling it off with no success haha

I also did a little Weighing o a few parts I took off to see what weight I'm saving
Did weigh everything but here's a little list

Front seats were £22kg each (which I think are lighter then the recaros

Back seats
Parcel shelf
Spare wheel
Some sound proofing (not all of it)
And a few bits of crap (2kg)

All added upto 45kg

So just with that I'm saving 89kg!!
And the car is still full carpet, panels and other crap! Haha

Next step is going to be to remove all the sound proofing stuck to the floor and eventually paint all the inside satin black just to tidy it up a little
