Might end up with a nice cheap prime lens! They are only £100 now! Keeping my eyes peeled...
In my opinion don't bother with the Sony.
I bought the Sony DT 50mm f1.8 SAM for £130 brand new from Jessops. They were useless in store, took ages to find a Sony camera with battery I could try it on.
It's a decent enough lens, but if you want a 50mm prime, I would go for an older Minolta 50mm f1.7.
My Sony got sand in it and the AF jammed, so I sold it on ebay as broken and bought the Minolta AF 50mm f1.7 RS (later "re-styled") version. Love it, colours are nicer, smother bokeh, better build quality, built-in lens hood.
Here's one of the non-RS lenses
£65 Buy It NowAs for Jessops, it's not surpising really. They're not great for photographic and camera knowledge when you go in-store and their prices aren't good enough to compare with other/online retailers.
There are other retailers who have better prices or better knowledge and customer service.
