knocking
«

Driving along then started hearing a loud knoking. sounded like the front O/S wheel was going to fall off. pulled over and cheked wheel nuts. all tight.
any ideas?
Going to jack the car up tonight and give the wheel a woble try see if its a bearing.
other things ive thought of was top mounts (how would i check to see if its them)
arb bushes ( has arb removed, i know. not the best idea i know. but its how the car was bought, didnt actualy notice no arb till i changed alloys. the cars too low to take corners fast atm anyway. will be getting raised and vrs arb put on in next few weeks)
wishbone bushes ( from a vishual inspection they all looked fine anyway to check)
cheers for any help.

jack her up, take the wheel off, check all nuts and bolts are done up tightly. but tbh could be a number of things coilovers, top mount, wishbone bushes, track rod end or ball joint

Just had a little look online see if i could find anything about seeing if topmounts are worn.
f
irst thing i found said jack car up and lift wheel if top mount rises then there worn. but i always thought there was ment to be some vertical play for when you turn? Can someone confirm this.
also someone said turn steering wheel with wheels on ground and i will see the top mounts move and creek?
Anyone know if these are ways to test? And if not anyone know a way?
cheers

Rock the strut forwards and backwards by hand and see if there's any play.
