I did the same to my 16v ran it dry, put a fall can in and it didn't start.

So my old man towed me down the road in his range rover bumping it. It fired and was fine untill I sold it.

It's happend to me before, where I've driven my car, and I've parked it up for a few hours, and once I've gone back to it, it's started and died out round the corner, so next day I bought a new coil and bingo, it works.

I have my doubts on coil, try that first

It was fine for months. I sold it because I rubbed up a lorry and a lad on here put the abf in his mk2 that saw plenty of track days.

Sorry didn't read your whole post, won't be the crank sensor obviously if you've already replaced it! Unless you bought a cheap one like I made the mistake of doing which failed within a week!

Well I got bored of sitting around waiting for the car to fix its self lol! Called on a fellow colour concept owner and set about it in the rain and dark haha, checked the plugs were sparking and yes no probs there! Checked fuel pump fuse- fine. Swapped the 167 relay with my mates car still no joy, tried jump leads again for another 10 mins no joy!! So was raging thru a wrope round it and the other golf n set about draggin it to car park!

Long story short, pull ing it in gear FINALY she coughed and spluttered then fired :D I am still anoyed that oit had to come to that but glad its nothing serious! Thanks to everyone tryna help me, appreciate n that's y I use this forum!

The CC safely at home :)

if you were pulling it in gear and it started, it may well be your starter motor then
