hi guys 1.4 abd starting problem

hello

only got my new golf yesterday

ok so when its warm it starts fine

wen cold in the morning it fires mint rhen dies

and keeps doing it i have to keep my foot on the throttle to keep it going

after a while it settles and is fine

any fault codes stored or can you do log drive?

could be temp sender, posted an image here not too long ago. just go through last few threads....

my temp guage also dosnt read at all could this be the prob

any idea of part code cannot seem to find one for my car

even puttin reg in gsf or ecp

temp sender unit 357919501A, this has been superseded but if you google the part number you're sure to find something.

your temp gauge not reading can only be down to three things:

thermostat not closing, then heating will be poorer (but usually still work somewhat)
temp.sender unit -this is a dual sender unit, one going to ECU the second the instruments
electrical issue (wiring or instrument cluster)

check my previous posts here. there is an image that would allow you to measure the sensor!

brill pal orderd a coolant temp sensor cheers

thermostat has ust been done i looked at that first no change and heaters work normal

any part no or info on the other sensor your on about

Temp sensor is a dual unit, i.e. two NTC resistors in one housing ;)

ok guys sensor replaced still wont start without aid from throttle and still no temp guage

might sound daft but trust its happend to me on another car with another sensor I ordered a new one and much like you no luck still confused.... long story short turned out the wireing was corroded.... the truth it one fault could be 100 different reason your best of getting it on a vag com machine.
