You will be fine to drive a few miles/mins at low revs.

To check thermostat put it in a kettle/pan and boil to see if it opens.

That driving without water in the engine for any length of time or at any revs can wreck it.
We have all done it and regretted it.
For the sake of a £10 water flange and 10 mins to fit it, its not worth driving it anywhere.

drove it fine it was so i had it at home and not sumwere random i think we all no we want ar cars outside the window lol, but yeh £8 flange fitted, coolant system presure tested and all is well again. thanks
