Fitted new lucas alt and fusebox on battery been ok, had new clutch fitted today happened again on way home. Found both battery leads were loose so tightened started car and lead from alt to fusebox at fusebox very hot and melted it again. Has anyone had this problem or know about it?

yes that happened to mine a few weeks ago so other half swapped the fuse box with his as its off the road but the (brand new) battery still never held its charge so had the AA come out and at first thought he thought it was the alternator but it turned out it was the lead connecting from the battery to the alternator. Lucky for me he was nice enough to change it and ever since its bee fine (touch wood)

Fuse for alt burnt out replaced fuse, alt earthing out inside so put one on from car I'm breaking. Took other one back to ecp going to order fusebox and lead from fuse to alt.
