from what ive been reading on this club the smic work to a limit but cannot beat FMIC for cooling effect. if you look in faq section there some good right ups on there.

JuSt get a uprated side mount with tt arch vent mod (DIY for less than a tenner) that should be sufficient and cost the least, then a fmic eBay one for about £160 will be fine too!!!

If U do side mount uprate hoses (forge 5 piece boost hose kit) to get the best flow, and maybe pcr pipe too!!!

Go for a FMIC as well as better cooling you'll get better flow. Have you seen the how to guild?

I cant see how any 'uprated' SMIC will be any better than the shoddy stock smic do to the limiting air flow you get to it through the tinny gril. FMIC all the way all you have to do is look at the front of the car to see where youl be getting the best flow

Only effectiveness a SMIC has is when you take it to weigh it in as scrap alloy and get about £2.50 for it.  They are useless.  They dont work and never will.  OEM would be better than a 'uprated' smic.

get a FMIC and decent pipework.
