VR6 and switched live
« on: 03 December 2012, 11:44 »
Hi all

Picked up a VR6 yesterday as a project and am scratching my head at the following.

Ive installed a radio only to find that both the perm and switched live of the radio loom on the vehicle are constantly live even when i remove the key.

Consequently im getting 130mA or thereabouts of drain on the battery so this will die over time.

Any reason why the switch live is always live??

When i remove the key from the barrel should it not pop out hence cutting the switched live?

Any help appreciated.

I know that im talking about the actual radio loom on the car that has a constant feed on both switched and perm live, not the radios harness itself...
