Noob question coming right up....

Hi all,

I have been trying to do some research around upgrading turbos, i thought i have a K03 turbo on my Mk4 Gti Y reg, but looking around (and getting very confused) it sounds like some models where fitted with the k03s so would be best to upgrade to the k04, and it depends on something to do with AUM and AUG?!?!?!?!

I am completely baffled so could do with someone on here who knows what they are chatting about to explain please!

all you need to know is that the AUM has a KO3s Terb and then research upgrading that

Ok, so just found that i have a AUM engine, so ive got the K03s right? whats the difference between the engine codes?? and the turbos??

Are you sure that yours is an AUM? I thought they were only fitted 2002 onwards?

AUM were fitted from 2001

That's a crazy price for small power!
260bhp has been made from the k03s! (Not saying it easy!)
Best bet is a proper k04 conversion with relentless manifold or a k03 hybrid from litto on here!

Are you sure that yours is an AUM? I thought they were only fitted 2002 onwards?

yeah, took a while to find a way of telling, but i looked on the block and there is AUM engraved in in little dots

mines 2001 and is AUM with less than 97000 on the clock too
