The car in question was a MK2 golf and was  built using a 5 litre engine out of a TVR Griffith 500, complete with cosworth T5 gearbox.

In the article in "The GOLF" magazine dated April 2002 the builder of said car, andy leech used a Cerbera chassis and fitted a GOLF shell over it which had the centre tunnel cut away.

So its more of a TVR chassis with a golf body on it and this was made by an ex employee of TVR.

Some stats.

BHP            320 bhp
TORQUE     300 lbs/ft
top speed  149mph

And my particular favourite is the 0-60mph time of 3.09 seconds.

So I take it your a bit handy with the spanners?

Take photo's, lots of them.
I'm looking for ideas for this Mk1 I recently acquired. I wasn't planning on keeping it 1600cc.  ;D
