just swapped the vacuum pipe...no difference

So far vacuum pipie, spark plugs, coil pack, ecu relay (doubt it will be the fuel pump relay or ignition leads) have been swapped.

Any other ideas?

I think I said before, it misfires accelerating (even less than 1/4 throttle when properly warm sometimes) from low revs but if i lift off then put my foot down again it goes fine

it will do it pretty much any time i floor it though, goin from low or high revs, hot or cold

Change every vacuum pipie on the engine of that size

What plugs do you have and have you tested the colour of the spark at plugs and coil king lead?

how do you insert a pic into this cos it may help...ive no idea where the other vacuum pipes are.

found one short pipe that goes from the drivers side of the inlet manifold abive the rocker cover to some silver circular thing infront of the rocker cover and between the firt two branches of the inlet manifold.

i squeezed it with the engine running and it made no diff (dont know if it should) but if i do the same with the kne going to the ecu it stalls, which seems normal...

the plugs: bosch plus yttrium, brand new
dont kniw what you mean by testing the colour of the spark though.
I would have thought if the coil king lead was at fault the problem would be consistent though?

To be honest i dont think the plugs will help anything but going to do it anyway now ive got em

if it helps...the car turns over fine if i turn it off and back on again but about a minute in then it starts getting lumpy...

Misfire under load, tends to be ignition related.  Please check your plug leads. It maybe the resistance in the wire is built up over 12kOhms or the plug reach down the plug holes has broken down and is leaking spark.

So car_manic, have you tried the about suggestion yet?

just tested the leads now n the highest resistance i got was 18k Ohms and the lowest was 14

i guess this means i need new leads?

Swapped the leads n it worked
Thanks v.much especially Wolf R...should have taken you up on that sooner, still kinda baffling how they affected the engine though!

I'll be back with more Q's soon

I knew it was ignition!

Should of started with leads and not plugs and coil, but at least they are replaced too.
