To be honest i dont think the plugs will help anything but going to do it anyway now ive got em

if it helps...the car turns over fine if i turn it off and back on again but about a minute in then it starts getting lumpy...

Misfire under load, tends to be ignition related.  Please check your plug leads. It maybe the resistance in the wire is built up over 12kOhms or the plug reach down the plug holes has broken down and is leaking spark.

On tickover when it first starts up it turns over fine.

Even if ive been driving for an hour and the idle is lumpy if i turn it off and start it up straigh away the problem goes BUT it starts again after a minute or so...seems like some sort of sensor maybe?

*Swapped the plugs* pretty much the same (but they were fook'd)

Something that might give ideas...
If i drive in second @1000rpm and put my foot to the floor it misfires while accelerating, i lift of completely when i get to around 2100-2500rpm and do the same again it takes iff like it should with no misfire

If i keep my foot down from 1000 more ifter than not it will just keep misfiring and sometimes its like flipping a switch from a subaru to an abf....

Which relay will that be?

Do you know what number or which position it will be in?

Theres a pic of where all the relays plug into if you search on here for
"help solve my mk2/mk3 wiring please"
A guy took a picture of his fuse board, i guess this may help pointing out where it will be

THE first thing to check on an ABF is the ECU relay.
You can test it first before you spend the huge amount of 12 quid on one.
Run the car for a while, either drive it or just let in run for 15 mins.
Stop, take out the relay and see if its warm, put it to your cheek is best.
If warm its ok if cold on any side then replace and that will be the source of your problem.
