Normal oil temp
« on: 15 November 2012, 00:55 »
As above, whats yours? Im having a couple issues with oil temps and coolant temps acting erracticly atm.

Wondering whats your normal oil temp?

Mines sitting at 92ish C at idle.

And anything from 96-104 driving like a loon. Seems very high to me. So whats normal? Thanks in advance

If driven hard I see temps of around 120 Celsius, far too hot for my liking, I am looking at an external oil cooler, the factory oil/water cooler is only suited for some fast road driving. For trackdays you ideally want an uprated oil cooler, it will help with the degradation of your engine's oil and keep it in the temperature range which it lubricates best at.

That is about right tbh, I would not worry.

Don't forget your oil and water run around the same temp due to the heat exchanger
