I think all those cheap suction mounts will be much of a muchness.  Buy one, try it - you're only risking a few quid!

Tripod mounts are universal thread-wise, thankfully - the GoPro adaptor thing just has a tripod thread in it.

If you're bored on the A303 at Stonehenge blat up the A344/A360 to Shrewton, then take the B390 through Chitterne - it's VERY open.  At the A36 you can either nip back down to the A303, or hop up to the B3095 to get back to the A303.

I'm google mapping this and it looks sweet. Thank you sir!

I lived in Shrewton for a year and a bit.  Lovely back yard.  A360 south of the A303 is worth a trip down as well - first for the big drop at the end of the straight, then for the sweeping curves on from there.

Although all of this is apropos of nothing when held up to the A350 from Warminster to Shaftesbury and then on to the B3081 to Verwood.  Now that's a route.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

No worries brother! Can't wait to see the footage. My suction mount should be here in the next week, so I'll get some V-Power in, top up the Mobil One and get out and get some more footage for you.

Hope Exeter is cool.

Didn't read the whole thread, but regarding the aspect ratio, you're using the r4 setting which is the tallest available. It's good for helmet mounts and where you want height rather than width. Try the r2 or the r3 settings (difference is 30fps and 60fps). R5 ia full 1080p hd but the downside is that it has a narrower field of view, 127 degrees rather than 170 of r1, r2 and r3. R5 also takes up a hell of a lot of memory. I use r2 and r4 more so than than the others.

I'll add now that r2 and r3 are 720p, and r5 is 1080p as I already said.

Took some footage with my normal camera today and it's sh!t! For some reason it looks like it's slowed down, I can't really work it out.....

The wide-angle lens gives a much better impression of speed than a more narrow angle lens - anything shot with a 'normal angle' lens will look staid in comparison.
