My father in-law uses our VW/Audi/Dealer for his business vehicles, so gave his salesman a call and told him to get a move on with my car.
I got a call from them an hour ago saying it's now ready.  It had a faulty ignition switch - replaced under warranty.

Up early tomorrow morning to collect it before work!

Result! At least it is sorted now and a shame your FIL had to get involved to jog them on

epc and engine light came on the altea last week and we took it in and it was caused by a loose battery terminal causing a loss in communications apparently!

glad yours got sorted too

I got my car back yesterday.  The job card I got back with it said that it wouldn't recognise the key - hence the no starting.
The ignition switch was replaced under warranty.

Seems fine - but they've obviously disconnected the battery for something as my clock was at the wrong time and my trip indicator has been zeroed!
