Talking of mpg, my mrs used my 35 all week due to me being laid up with a back issue. So I said to her use mine seeing as we've cleaned yours and mine was full of fuel. So today was the first time I've been able to drive in two weeks, first thing I do is go to check the computer and crafty sod had reset both when she got home today. she was sat next to me when i checked with a big fat grin in her fave! Bet she's been ragging her all week.

Im getting about 28mpg around town in the mk6 GTi and on the motorway with no traffic about 35-38mpg

I did get it up to 42 mpg once on a run to Manchester from Birmingham but i have no idea how i managed that wasnt giving it the beans but also wasnt trying to drive it carefully.

Wanna run it on a tank og vpower to see how that works with the car.

I read alot about higher octane fuels, from my own experience of trying it on 3 GTI,s ive had i really dont think it makes a difference, especialy with the cost difference. I couldnt notice any performance gain either.

Im about to go for a Revo 95ron map as im not after the ultimate power gain

Nice one!

I managed 39mpg on my journey to work today, I tested myself and that's a steady run sticking to the speed limits inc dual carriage way etc.

Never over 30.... I ve come to accept this now. I did have one run on the A9 where I got to 35, but blew it all away on a 10 mile B road. On Shell V Max I get about 360 to a tank, with cruise on 70-82(...). Just got back from a 1,000 mile trip from London to Scotland and over to the west coast. What a car...! Had an empty car for parts but 4 people and fully laden with luggage for others on some of the greatest roads in Scotland (tarbert to Crieff, via Lochearn). I was amazed how well it pulled, in 3rd and above 5,000 rpm it jumps to overtake. I had a 9hr drive and felt absolutely fine afterwards, it didn't put a foot wrong. Practical, fast and comfy...honestly can't fault the car. That's my little VW love in over.
